The suspension is finally done! Parking brakes are completed (and working much better than stock). Rear disc's lock up the tires perfectly. Couldn't be happier with this build. Everything has come together so well. The 8.8 has been a real treat to install. Much appreciation to 249 Drivetrain in Houston for gearing and cleaning up this amazing swap. For a very good price they cleaned and built a stout axle, added spring perches, lower control arm mounts, and gave me a set of shock tabs. After calling every shop in Dallas and Houston, 249 had the best prices. This suspension upgrade would not be complete unless my muffler system was quiet once again. Bryan Muffler and Performance not only built me the best quality exhaust system for my rig, they let me in the pit and listened to what I needed for my flexy suspension.
There are still a hundred things to do on the Jeep. The interior is still completely torn apart waiting for a re-wire. I am also planning on insulating the roof of my hard top (great write up). The list is long, but if I keep at it I'll have it done one day :)
Here's a shot of my alignment after the long arm install. The bump stops aren't off at all.
A good majority of that stuff came off the Jeep.
After doing my alignment. Ninety four inches, back to stock wheelbase!
Alignment done! Broke my clockspring flipping my steering wheel -pitman arm was half a rotation off and my drag link was either fully collapsed, or barley biting threads. An expensive mistake, and hopefully my only one! Here's a shot of the steering box skid that came with the Teraflex kit.
After a driving a couple hundred miles on a new diff its best to change the gear oil out. First of all it allows you to check for issues and bad wear, but it also gives you an excuse to bolt on a new cover and fill up with Royal Purple ;)
Solid was running a special on their diff covers. Picked up this piece of beef for very cheap.
That is it for today's update. More to come as I figure out how I want to wire everything in the cab.
